Hailsham Christian Fellowship Youth!

Sunday Mornings

On Sunday mornings the young people are involved in running our 7-11's group. There are three teams, who each run the group once a month, the teams are made up of 1 or 2 adult leaders and a group of 3/4 young people (14+). You may have realised that only accounts for 3 Sundays a month, so what do we do with that extra week? We have a party! Which we call 'worship workout'. It's a chance for all the young people aged 7+ to come together and worship God. We try to have lively music, and get them jumping around a bit, and a very short talk about something from the bible. Then once every quarter we have a full whack celebration! All the adults are kicked out into seminars and the young people take over the hall we play games, worship a bit more, have a short talk, and sit on the floor! This is a real chance to go crazy! All the young people and the children have a great chance to express themselves, and even get a bit messy!!! When they're not busy doing other things we also have a group for the 11-14's, which aims to prepare them for leading in the 7-11's, and also to help build their knowledge of the bible a bit more. The young people are also involved in P.A, worship band, setting up the hall, and many other things.

Youth Band

As well as playing with the worship band in church, some of the young people are in a band called 'Rooted'. The band aim to remain rooted in the truth of the gospel, and keep their eyes focused on who they worship, and not always how they worship! The band has changed shape a bit recently, and now has Luke leading on the Keyboard, Rob on the electric guitar, Nick on bass, Chris on drums and Jemma, Beth, and Emma on vocals. They regularly play at all our youth events including...

Our Vision

As a youth group, we have all been involved with writing and committing to a 'vision statement'. It is written as a prayer, and we try to aim at meeting up to the challenges set out in the prayer.

'Lord we desire to be a people of faith. Rooted in the truth of you. Unshakable in our knowledge of you. Lord we want to be ambassadors of your love. A living example of a team working together in unity, for a single cause, your kingdom come. We choose to make our stand as a people of worship; not only in our music but in acts, as a lifestyle. A people that others can take example from. Others are an important part of our lives and so we pledge to be a people of prayer for those around us. Lord we want to be a people of faith as well as action. Action amongst the church and this community. Lord we ask for your help in these areas.'
